Fans and admirers of the late Big Brother Naija star, Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, have taken to social media to commemorate the third anniversary of his tragic death, expressing enduring love and admiration for the reality TV personality.
Rico Swavey, who participated in the Double Wahala edition of the BBNaija reality show, died on October 13, 2022, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Lagos. The former housemate was reportedly in a coma for two days before his demise, sparking widespread grief across the entertainment industry.
On Sunday, October 13, 2025, fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram with heartfelt tributes, old clips, and photos celebrating Rico’s vibrant spirit, humility, and kindness.
One fan wrote, “Three years gone but never forgotten. Rico’s smile still lights up our memories.” Another user posted, “We lost a gem, but his light continues to shine through the love he shared.”
The official Big Brother Naija platform also joined in the remembrance, paying tribute to Rico and other former housemates who have passed on, describing them as “forever part of the BBNaija family.”
Rico Swavey, who was also a musician and actor, left behind a legacy of positivity and creativity that continues to inspire fans and colleagues alike.
He was buried in Lagos in October 2022 amid tears from fellow reality stars and friends from the entertainment industry.
According to Punch Newspapers, fans said Rico’s humility, talent, and calm nature made him one of the most loved housemates of his season, with many calling for continued road safety awareness in his memory.
