The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of ₦2.001 trillion as revenue for July 2025 to the three tiers of government—federal, state, and local councils.

According to figures released after its monthly meeting, the gross revenue for July stood at ₦3.837 trillion. From this, ₦152.681 billion was deducted as collection costs, while ₦1.683 trillion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

The report showed that statutory revenue for July was ₦3.070 trillion, reflecting a sharp drop of ₦415.108 billion compared to June’s ₦3.485 trillion. On the other hand, Value Added Tax (VAT) collections rose slightly to ₦687.940 billion, up by ₦9.775 billion from the ₦678.165 billion recorded in June.

From the distributable pool, the Federal Government received ₦735.081 billion, the 36 states got ₦660.349 billion, while local governments shared ₦485.039 billion. Oil-producing states also received ₦120.359 billion as 13 percent derivation revenue from mineral earnings.

The allocations come at a time when states and local councils are under pressure to meet rising expenditure needs, especially in the face of fluctuating oil revenues and economic reforms.
