Operations at the region’s busiest aviation hub have been thrown into uncertainty after Emirates Airline announced the suspension of all flights to and from Dubai until further notice, citing widespread airspace closures across the Middle East.
In a travel advisory issued on its official website, the airline confirmed that flights operating through Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central have been halted as regional aviation routes remain severely restricted.
“All flights to and from Dubai have been suspended until further notice. Please do not go to the airport. Emirates will share updates when available. We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience,” the airline said.
The suspension follows earlier extensions that had already grounded scheduled commercial operations through 11:59 p.m. UAE time on March 7, but escalating geopolitical tensions and ongoing military activity in parts of the Middle East forced the airline to take further precautionary steps.
Industry observers say the decision underscores the seriousness of the unfolding situation, as multiple countries in the region have temporarily closed sections of their airspace, disrupting major international aviation corridors.
The move is expected to affect thousands of passengers and global transit routes, as Dubai serves as one of the world’s most important aviation hubs connecting Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
