…..Governor Radda, Emir’s sons among distinguished personages to receive honours
His Royal Highness, Alh. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina, has approved the turbanning of three illustrious sons of Katsina State. The honour recognises their outstanding contributions to society and their dedication to community development.
The three distinguished personages are all descendants of the legendary Muhammadu Dikko dynasty, a family known for its proud tradition of excellence, service and leadership in Katsina and Nigeria at large.
The official notification comes through a letter from the Katsina Emirate Council dated 31st March, 2026. The letter, signed by Alh. Isah Ali Kankia, Secretary of the Katsina Emirate Council, was addressed to the Special Adviser on Emirate Affairs to the Governor.
The three distinguished personages to be turbanned are:
1. Alh. Ahmad Abdumuminimini Kabir Usman – Hakimin Dankama (Dan-Majen Katsina) – son of HRH the Emir of Katsina
2. Alh. Muhammad Dikko Umar – Hakimin Radda (Gwagwaren Katsina) – son of Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Governor of Katsina State
3. Alh. Abubakar Dardisu, FCNA, Mni – Hakimin Muduru (Sarkin Mudurun Katsina)
The turbanning ceremony will take place on May 2, 2026 at the Emir of Katsina Palace in Katsina. The event will celebrate the elevation of these sons to positions of honour and traditional responsibility.
The Emir’s approval recognises each honouree’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and service to their communities. Each turbanned title carries significant responsibility within the traditional system and the wider society.
Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur expressed delight at the approval of the honours.
He noted that the committee is committed to ensuring that the event reflects the dignity, tradition and cultural significance that such an occasion demands.
