Grief has struck former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away on Friday.
The sad development was confirmed by the El-Rufai family, bringing an outpouring of condolences from associates and sympathisers across the country.
Family sources revealed that the late matriarch had been battling age-related health challenges, which reportedly worsened in recent times.
Her condition, sources added, further deteriorated after she became aware of her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission.
It was gathered that Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai had been closely involved in managing his mother’s health prior to her passing.
The family has prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
As condolences continue to pour in, many have described her death as a painful loss not only to the family but to all who knew her.
