The El-Rufai family has formally announced the funeral arrangements for their beloved matriarch, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away on Friday, March 28, 2026.
In a solemn statement issued on behalf of the family elders, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai confirmed that the Janazah prayer will be held at the National Mosque at exactly 1:00 p.m.
Following the prayers, the late matriarch will be laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery, Apo, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The lawmaker, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Banking Regulations, expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of support received from sympathisers across the country.
“Thank you for all the prayers, visits, and well wishes,” the statement read, while offering heartfelt prayers for the repose of the deceased.
Family members and well-wishers have continued to pray for Allah’s mercy upon the departed, asking that she be granted Aljannatul Firdausi, the highest level of Paradise.
The announcement has drawn condolences from political associates, community leaders, and citizens, as the family prepares to bid a final farewell to a revered figure.
