EL-RUFAI DECLINES TINUBU’S JET, OPTS FOR PRIVATE FLIGHT TO RETURN MOTHER’S BODY

Borno State Government

In a surprising turn of events, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has politely declined an offer of a federal government aircraft extended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convey the remains of his late mother from Egypt back to Nigeria.

Sources revealed on Saturday that the Presidency had offered the use of a presidential jet as a gesture of goodwill and solidarity during the family’s moment of grief.

However, the El-Rufai family reportedly turned down the offer, stating that they had already made private arrangements for the transportation of the body.

Despite declining the gesture, the family expressed deep appreciation to the Presidential Villa for the show of support and concern.

The development has drawn attention across political circles, with many interpreting the move as a quiet display of independence, even in mourning.

As preparations continue for the return and burial rites, sympathies have continued to pour in for the former governor and his family over their loss.
