EFCC Storms Naira Marley’s Lekki Home

Borno State Government

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly raided a residence linked to controversial singer Naira Marley in the Lekki area of Lagos, arresting one suspect while four others escaped during the operation.

Sources said the anti-graft agency acted on intelligence suggesting the property was allegedly being used as a base for cyber-fraud activities. During the raid, officers apprehended one individual believed to be connected to the suspected network, while four others reportedly fled before they could be taken into custody.

Investigators are also looking into claims that several teenage boys were allegedly recruited and kept in a basement of the building where they were made to carry out online activities suspected to be linked to internet fraud.

Security insiders further claimed the alleged operation may have been running for several years, though authorities are yet to confirm the full details of the investigation.

Meanwhile, unverified allegations circulating on social media have attempted to connect the controversy to the late singer Mohbad.

However, no law-enforcement agency has officially confirmed any link between the ongoing investigation and the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

As of the time of filing this report, the EFCC had not issued an official statement on the raid, but the development has already stirred widespread reactions online as Nigerians call for a thorough and transparent investigation.
