The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned one Abdullahi Aminu before the Borno State High Court in Maiduguri over an alleged N4.3 million fraud.
The defendant was docked before Justice Aisha Kumaliya on a one-count charge of criminal misappropriation linked to a failed rice supply deal.
According to the charge, Aminu allegedly diverted N4,305,000 meant for the purchase of rice belonging to one Jibrin Abdulrahman.
He pleaded not guilty to the allegation, prompting prosecution counsel A.D. Abdulmalik to seek a trial date and his remand in custody.
The court adjourned the matter to April 21, 2026, for trial and ordered his detention at the Maiduguri Maximum Correctional Facility.
