The launch, described as a turning point for Edo’s food security agenda, is designed to empower farmers, open new production corridors, and create opportunities for youths and women in rural communities. Officials say the initiative will ramp up food production, support agro-industrial growth, and firmly position Edo as a strategic player in Nigeria’s quest for self-sufficiency.
Governor Okpebholo, while addressing dignitaries at the event, said the investment reflects “Practical Governance in action,” noting that true development comes from deliberate, reform-driven decisions that uplift citizens and strengthen the economy.
The ceremony was graced by the President of the Nigerian Senate, His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, alongside other federal lawmakers. Their presence, the governor said, signals a united resolve to build a stronger and more productive Edo State.
“With this bold step, we are laying the groundwork for prosperity and abundance. Edo is rising — not by chance, but by vision and commitment,” he declared.
