Relief swept across Kano State as security operatives recorded a major breakthrough, rescuing the abducted Administrative Secretary of Kibiya Local Government, Alhaji Hamza Durya, and arresting two suspected kidnappers in a swift operation.
The victim was earlier seized from his residence in Durya village, Kibiya Local Government Area, triggering an immediate security response across the state.
In a coordinated raid, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed the kidnappers’ hideout, successfully freeing the victim while apprehending two suspects who sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter.
The Kano State Government described the operation as a major success, praising the professionalism and swift response of security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.
Authorities also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continued support to security outfits, noting that enhanced logistics and coordination have boosted operational efficiency across the state.
Reassuring residents, the government reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace across all 44 local government areas, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
With this latest success, Kano reinforces its message to criminal elements: there is no hiding place.
