A dramatic drug smuggling attempt into Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre has been crushed by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Capital Territory Command.

According to the Command’s spokesman, Adamu Duza, officers on routine duty intercepted a visitor, Njimogu Ikedi, at about 12:45 p.m. on Saturday after he tried to sneak in substances suspected to be cannabis sativa and other psychoactive drugs.

Ikedi, who pretended to be visiting an inmate, had concealed the items inside his shorts, worn in the style of a diaper. His cover, however, was blown during a mandatory search at the prison gate.
