RENOWNED Philanthropist and Televangelist, Dr Azemhe Azena has emerged the Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), for the September 21, 2024 Gubernatorial election in Edo State
Dr. Azemhe Azena polled 211 votes to defeat three other Aspirants, to emerge victorious at a keenly contested primary held at Depraisery Event Centre, Ugor Road, in Benin Ciy on Friday, February 23, 2024.
During the Announcing the result at the end of the exercuse, Chairman of the NNPP Edo State Primary/ Election Committe, Sen. Kawu Sumaila declared Dr. Azemhe Azena as the winner of the primary election, beating Peter Okieguale who polled 100 vote to the second position , while Rev Sebastian Iyere and Balogun Engeyemhe polled 25 votes and 17 votes for the third and fourth position.
Other members of the Committee are former Ogun state NNPP Governorship Candidate, Amb. Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo as secretary; Chief Collins Onuaha; former Governorship Candidate for Taraba State, Prof Yahaya Sani Mohammed; and former Governorship Candidate for Gombe State Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki.
Dr Azemhe Azena is the Regional Pastor of Omega Fire Ministry South-South and Region and hails from Okpekpe, Etsako-East in the Edo North senatorial zone.
The exercise was witnessed by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security men and civil society groups.
