District Head warns students against indiscipline, greediness

The Galadiman Katsina, District Head of Malumfashi in Katsina State, retired Justice Sadiq Mahuta, has cautioned students against indiscipline and greediness for their brighter future and productive living.

Mahuta, who was a former Chief Judge of the state, gave the charge when he inaugurated the Malumfashi Students Association’s (MALSA) office on Tuesday in Malumfashi.

He urged the union members to effectively utilise their time through dedication to studies, engagement on productive ventures, as well as guiding their fellows on upholding good virtues.

The district head further counseled the students on pursuing professional courses in their careers, patriotism and working in the interest of the nation’s progress.

”Selfish interests, greediness and indiscipline are the causes of cutting corners in an attempt to amass wealth easily without an individual’s sweat.

”Such habits lead the youths to engage in fraudulent activities such as cultism, Yahoo Yahoo and other cybercrimes, as well as theft and other dubious transactions.

”You should remain resolute, dedicate yourself to your studies, shy away from drug abuse and peddling, be obedient to your parents and adhere to the nation’s laws in order to become successful in future, ” Mahuta admonished.

The traditional ruler further challenged the students on supporting each other in various sectors, urging that wealthy individuals should support the less-privileged persons.

”Successful persons that have the opportunity should assist the incoming ones, if you are a Lawyer, Medical Director, financial expert or Engineer, you should also support students studying similar fields.

“We are in a challenging time where we are struggling for upkeep, so those that are buoyant should be supportive to less privileged persons in the society, ” Mahuta added.

In his speech, MALSA Patron, Alhaji Aliyu Halliru-Abdullahi, urged the students to utilize the building judiciously and intensify efforts to unite all the students studying in various institutions in the country.

Responding, MALSA President, Abdulhakim Musa-Rugoji, commended the district head for his guidance and logistic support to the union at all times.

Musa-Rugoji thanked the Malumfashi Local Government Council Chairman, Alhaji Maharazu Dayi, for donating the building to the students’ body to serve as the secretariat.

Speaking also, the Senate Leader of MALSA National Representatives, Habibu Muhammad, urged former students’ leaders and public office holders to support the indigent students as many were facing challenges in their respective institutions.
