This morning, around 2:30 AM, while checking social media, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda spotted an urgent Facebook post about a fire outbreak at Sabon Titin Kwado. He didn’t hesitate for a second.
“I was scrolling through my Facebook feed when I saw residents calling for help. In that moment, I knew I couldn’t just forward the information. These were our people in danger,” Governor Radda shared.
Given that the Facebook poser claimed to have contacted Fire Service providers who cited technical issues as basis for not being at the fire spot. The Governor immediately proceeded to the Fire Service station and personally led the response team to the scene. No waiting for reports, no delegation – just direct action when citizens needed it most.
Arriving at Sabon Titin Kwado, Governor Radda worked alongside firefighters, coordinating efforts and offering reassurance to affected families till the fire was entirely quenched.
Meanwhile, residents expressed surprise and gratitude at seeing their Governor on the ground during an emergency.
“This is what leadership looks like. The Governor didn’t just send people – he came himself,” one of the residents remarked.
Governor Radda’s proactive to this morning’s crisis demonstrates his commitment to being accessible and responsive to Katsina citizens, irrespective of the hour or circumstance.
