Democracy Day: Police Refutes Senator Sani’s Misleading Claims -No EndSARS Protester Still in Detention

In a firm rebuttal, the Nigeria Police Force has denied Senator Shehu Sani’s allegations made during the 2024 Democracy Day Dinner.

The Senator’s claims about ongoing detentions related to the 2020 EndSARS protests are categorically false, according to the Police.

The Police emphasized that all individuals arrested during the EndSARS protests have been lawfully processed, with no one currently detained.

Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has even pardoned around 100 individuals apprehended during the protests.

“We urge the public to disregard these unfounded claims and trust in our dedication to justice and human rights,” said ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer.
