Deadly Clash: NSCDC Guns Down Bandits at FUDMA, Grains Reserve

The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has successfully thwarted multiple armed bandit attacks at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) permanent site and the Federal Government Special Grains Reserve in Darawa, Dutsin-Ma LGA.

Acting on the directives of the Commandant General, A.A. Audi PhD, mni, OFR, and under the leadership of Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, NSCDC operatives engaged heavily armed criminals in two separate confrontations on February 21 and 23, 2025.

In a fierce midnight gun battle at FUDMA, NSCDC operatives neutralized three bandits, including the notorious Ayuba Buzaru, who attempted to use the university as an escape route. The officers also rescued three kidnapped victims:Jafaru Alh. Bawa (52 years, male),Delu Alh. Amadu (40 years, female) And Huzaifa (alias Zulai) Alh. Bawa (37 years, female)

Additionally, several livestock stolen by the criminals were recovered.

In a separate encounter, NSCDC Agro Rangers, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (Dutsin-Ma Division), repelled an attack on the Federal Government Special Grains Reserve. The reserve, which supplies grains to Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto States, has been a target for armed groups.

Following an intense gunfight, security forces neutralized one assailant, while others fled with gunshot wounds. The corpse of the slain bandit was deposited at the General Hospital, Dutsin-Ma.

Meanwhile, in another operation, NSCDC personnel, in a joint security effort, successfully dispersed suspected armed bandits at Gago Village, near Isah Kaita College of Education.

Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad reassured residents of the NSCDC’s unwavering commitment to securing lives, property, and critical national assets. He also urged the public to report any individuals with gunshot wounds to the nearest security office.

The NSCDC Katsina Command remains steadfast in its mission to combat criminal activities and protect citizens across the state.
