Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to N890 Per Litre

Katsina state government

In a move set to ease fuel costs for Nigerians, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of petrol, bringing it down from N950 to N890 per litre. The price cut takes effect Saturday, February 1, 2025.

This development is expected to bring relief to consumers and stakeholders in the downstream sector, with hopes that the price drop will reflect at filling stations nationwide.

Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest privately-owned oil facility, has been at the forefront of refining efforts to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported fuel. The latest price adjustment signals the company’s commitment to making petroleum products more affordable.

With this reduction, industry watchers anticipate a potential downward shift in pump prices, depending on market dynamics and transportation costs. Meanwhile, Nigerians will be keen to see how this impacts overall fuel availability and economic activities.
