Dangote distributes rice to 1,128 less privileged in Katsina

Dangote foundation has extended its gesture with the distribution of 1,128 10kg bags of rice to underprivileged people in Katsina State, as part of Ramadan gesture.

The distribution of the rice took place at the Muhammad DIKKO stadium, located within the Katsina metropolis.

A member of the foundation, Mr Mustapha Umar said that the beneficiaries were selected from the 12 political wards of the Katsina Local Government Area (LGA).

He said that the foundation provided the food items as part of its humanitarian assistance to cushion the economic hardship being faced by vulnerable persons.

According to him, the foundation Ramadan palliatives is intended to complement the efforts being made by the government at all levels to improve the well-being of people.

Umar noted that, “This year’s gesture is targeting over one million vulnerable Nigerians, aimed at reducing their hardship due to the economic situation in the country.

“The foundation was in various parts of the country to offer the Ramadan palliatives to assist people, especially Muslims to observe the Ramadan fast with relative ease.

“Each of the political wards in the state, 94 vulnerable people benefited with the Ramadan gesture.”

Speaking with some of the beneficiaries who were seen happy in visibility, thanked the foundation for the food items and other humanitarian assistance.

ABC reports that in Katsina, the distribution of the 10kg bags of rice was attended by hundreds of people including the physically challenged persons.

It was observed that some of the beneficiaries had to be wheeled to the venue to collect their share courtesy of the Aliko Dangote foundation.

The exercise was supervised by officials of the Katsina government, to include Hisba, state Community Development Programme and other stakeholders. ####
