Africa’s construction giant, Dangote Cement Plc, has once again taken center stage as the major sponsor of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), which kicks off this Monday at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Now in its 19th edition, the show is attracting participants from 21 countries and over 40,000 stakeholders in the housing sector, making it the continent’s largest housing and construction convergence. Dangote Cement, a consistent supporter of the event over the years, is using the opportunity not just for sponsorship but as a key exhibitor, showcasing its innovative cement products to major players in the industry.
In a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, the company described the event as a rare strategic platform to engage directly with government representatives, investors, and top decision-makers in the housing sector.
“As the Housing Show brings together over 40,000 participants, including key industry leaders, government representatives, and investors, Dangote Cement Plc will leverage this opportunity to showcase its innovative products to clients and decision makers,” Chiejina said.
This year’s theme, “Reimagining Housing Through Innovation,” aligns closely with Dangote Cement’s corporate vision to revolutionize housing and infrastructure through cutting-edge products and sustainable practices.
Speaking to journalists, the show’s coordinator, Barrister Festus Adebayo, emphasized the urgent need for Public Private Partnerships (PPP) to tackle Nigeria’s housing deficit. “Innovation and collaboration are top priorities for us, especially in this era of rapid technological change in construction, housing finance, and system improvements,” he said.
Adebayo praised Dangote Cement for its unwavering support, stating that over 82% of the event’s attendees hold purchasing and policy-making power, giving sponsors and exhibitors access to the core of the industry’s influencers.
Industry leaders, including the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), have hailed Dangote Cement as one of the driving forces of real estate development in Nigeria, thanks to its commitment to affordability, quality, and innovation in the building sector.
