In a bold and coordinated operation, the Katsina Community Watch Corps (CWC) ambushed a notorious bandits’ hideout in Walawa community, Sukuntuni district, Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State, rescuing six abducted women.
Acting on credible intelligence, the CWC stormed the hideout under the cover of darkness, catching the bandits off guard. A fierce confrontation ensued, forcing the criminals to abandon their captives and flee into the surrounding forest. The rescued women, who had been held captive for days, have since been reunited with their families and are receiving necessary support.
The CWC Commander hailed the bravery of his officers, emphasizing the Corps’ unwavering commitment to restoring peace in Katsina State. Residents of Walawa community have expressed gratitude, calling the rescue a beacon of hope in the fight against insecurity.
