A daring operation by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CWC) early Tuesday morning led to the rescue of three abducted persons— a man, his wife, and a young boy — from kidnappers in Yabawa village, Dandume Local Government Area.
The victims were seized during a night-time raid on the community but regained freedom after a fierce exchange of gunfire forced the armed abductors to abandon them and flee into the bush.
Residents hailed the swift response of the CWC, saying the operation prevented what could have been another prolonged hostage ordeal in the area.
Security patrols have since been intensified to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks.
