Katsina state government

The Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) Sector 4, North West Zone, led by Comptroller Aminu Abubakar, has intercepted smuggled goods worth over N186 million between April and September 2024.

A recent high-profile seizure included a trailer carrying 693 sacks of donkey bones, violating international wildlife trade conventions.

Officers also confiscated 67 bags of NPK fertilizer, illegal without proper certification due to security concerns.

During a media briefing on Thursday, September 19, Comptroller Abubakar highlighted the crucial role of intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation in securing the region’s borders, noting the continuous threat posed by smuggling.
