Customs committed to check smuggling, says Katsina boss
The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says it will not relent in its effort to tackle smuggling activities in the state.
Acting Comptroller of the Command, DC Wada Chedi who stated this in an interview, also said the command has recorded successes in tackling smuggling.
Chedi, however, said that despite the success, the command would not rest on its oars but build upon achievements to make it difficult for smugglers to operate in the state.
Also commenting on smuggling activities in the state, a former customs comptroller, Alhaji Usman Bello said border communities have vital role to play in tackling smuggling.
Bello, who is the Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, called on the customs headquarters to provide more logistics to it’s personnel to enable them discharge their duties diligently.
