Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointment of a 41-member high-powered committee to review requests inview of the numerous Memoranda received for the creation of new Emirates, Chiefdoms, and Districts in the state.
The move follows an earlier call by the state government inviting interested communities to submit memoranda, aims to deepen grassroots governance, promote socio-political inclusion, and preserve cultural heritage.
A press statement from the Government House signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, says the committee will be chaired by former Chairman of the PDP Bauchi State Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam from Misau Local Government Area, while Justice Habibu Idris Shall from Tafawa Balewa will serve as Deputy Chairman.

The statement added that Ahmed Ali Ranga, Permanent Secretary Political Affairs will serve as secretary of the committee, with co-secretaries including Shehu Yahaya Jalam, Auwal Shehu Jalo, and Mohammed Ali Manti from relevant ministries and agencies.
The committee is expected to begin work after its formal inauguration by Governor Bala Mohammed, scheduled for Thursday, 3rd July 2025, at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Bauchi.
