In a strong show of solidarity with retired personnel, the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, held a strategic engagement with the Katsina State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPON). The meeting focused on efforts by the Inspector-General of Police to improve the welfare of retired officers across the country.

Leading the NARPON delegation was the chapter’s Secretary, CSP Jibrin Abdullahi (rtd), who was warmly received at the Police Headquarters in Katsina.

CP Bello Shehu used the occasion to reassure the retired officers of the IGP’s unwavering commitment to their wellbeing. He outlined a range of welfare initiatives being implemented by the Force Headquarters, aimed at addressing long-standing challenges faced by retired police personnel.

“The Inspector-General of Police is fully committed to ensuring that those who served this nation with dedication are not forgotten. These reforms are part of a broader agenda to restore dignity and care to our retired officers,” CP Bello stated.

In response, CSP Jibrin Abdullahi (rtd) applauded the efforts of both the IGP and CP Bello Shehu, noting that retired officers in Katsina remain law-abiding and supportive of the Force’s leadership. He also emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between serving and retired officers in building a stronger policing system.

The engagement, captured in heartwarming photographs, underscores the Force’s renewed drive to recognize and uplift its veterans — a crucial part of the ongoing police reform agenda under the current IGP.

The interaction marks a new chapter of inclusion and appreciation for those who dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation.

End.
