CP Azare Hosts Retired Officers, Vows Continued Support, Visibility

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare on Tuesday warmly welcomed retired police officers under the banner of the National Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (NARPON) during a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters.

Led by their Chairperson, ASP (Rtd) Chief Anselem Eyo, the retirees pledged their unwavering support to the Command and requested closer collaboration on issues affecting their welfare and visibility within the state.

In his remarks, CP Azare applauded the officers for their years of dedicated service and urged them to remain pillars of peace and discipline within their communities. He reminded them that their professional conduct remains a guiding principle, even in retirement.

Addressing their concerns, CP Azare reassured them that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, is making tangible efforts to address the contributory pension scheme challenges faced by retired officers.

He called on the retirees to continue partnering with local authorities in combating crime and assured the association of full support, including enhanced visibility and media coverage for their activities.

The meeting marks a renewed commitment to strengthening ties between the Police Command and its retired personnel, reinforcing a shared mission of safer communities across Akwa Ibom State.
