The Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant of Corps A.D. Moriki Acti, has received royal blessings from the Emir of Daura, Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Faruk Umar, CON, as part of his ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration with traditional and security institutions across the state.
During his courtesy visit to the Emir’s Palace in Daura, Commandant Moriki said his visit was to formally introduce himself, seek royal guidance, and strengthen the bond between the Corps and the Daura Emirate in tackling security challenges.
“My visit to this historic Palace is to pay homage, seek your support, guidance, and blessings in order to succeed in tackling the security challenges in the State,” he stated.
He also conveyed the goodwill message of the NSCDC Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and maintaining public order.
In his remarks, the Emir of Daura praised the NSCDC for its steadfast dedication to security and protection of lives and property. He assured Commandant Moriki of the palace’s continued cooperation, urging him to prioritize intelligence gathering and professionalism in his operations.
The Emir also prayed for the success of the new Commandant, emphasizing the importance of unity among security agencies in promoting peace and stability.
In a related development, Commandant Moriki paid familiarization visits to the Controllers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Commander of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) in Katsina.
He underscored the need to strengthen existing inter-agency cooperation for effective security management across the State. The agency heads — CIS Muhammad Ibrahim (NIS), CC Umar Baba (NCoS), and ACF Abdullahi Aliyu (FFS) — welcomed him warmly and pledged to sustain the synergy with the NSCDC.
The visits featured inspection of the quarter guard, exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs, marking the beginning of a renewed phase of collaboration among the State’s security institutions.
