Members of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) have appealed to Kwara state government to consider dialogue on the issue of non-implementation of consequential adjustment of the national minimum wage for staff in the three colleges of education in the state.
Speaking with journalists during South West zonal delegates conference held in Ilorin , the National vice president, South West, Comrade Segun Lana, said that the dialogue between the two parties will prevent impending industrial action.
According to him their patience should not be taken for granted , adding that members are only considerate because of the students who are children of ordinary people in country.
Comrade Lana explained that some of the contending issues the union has with the state government include implementation of consequential adjustment of the national minimum wage.
He noted that while other MDAs have enjoyed the new national minimum wage by the state government the union members are yet to benefit.
Comrade Lana appealed to the state government to look into the issue before it degenerate into an industrial crisis.
