CJN Convenes Emergency Meeting to Probe Kano Emirate Controversy

In a swift response to the escalating judicial controversy in Kano, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Olukayode Ariwoola has called for an emergency meeting next week to address the conflicting judgments involving the Kano Emirate.

Announced by the National Judicial Council (NJC) Director of Information, Mr. Soji Oye, the meeting will include a thorough investigation with the presence of Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, and his Kano State counterpart, Justice Dije Aboki.

The judges are scheduled to meet with the CJN today, May 30, 2024, to provide detailed briefings on the matter.

The NJC will conduct an extensive investigation next week, where both judges are expected to be thoroughly scrutinized for their roles in the conflicting decisions that have sparked this urgent judicial review.
