In a major boost to Nigeria’s infrastructure development, the China Development Bank has approved a $254.76 million (€245 million) loan to support the long-anticipated Kano-Kaduna railway project. The funding promises to accelerate the modernization of Nigeria’s rail network, enhancing trade and connectivity between the northern commercial hubs.
The Kano-Kaduna railway, a critical component of the nation’s transport infrastructure, is expected to reduce travel time, improve logistics efficiency, and spur economic activities along the corridor.
Experts see this loan as a testament to China’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Nigeria while driving its Belt and Road Initiative across Africa.
The project is set to create jobs, promote regional integration, and solidify Nigeria’s position as a key player in West Africa’s economic landscape.
