Chelsea have dismissed growing speculation linking them with a January move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, insisting that no talks are currently taking place between the two clubs or the player’s representatives.
Reports from Brazil earlier this week claimed that the Blues were preparing an ambitious approach for the 23-year-old forward, who has struggled for consistent starts this season under Carlo Ancelotti. However, club sources have now flatly denied any ongoing negotiations.
According to reliable insiders, Chelsea’s focus remains on strengthening other key areas of the squad rather than pursuing high-profile attacking signings during the winter window.
“There are no talks with Rodrygo or Real Madrid — the links are wide of the mark,” a source close to Stamford Bridge told reporters.
The Brazilian international, who has been a crucial figure for Madrid in recent campaigns, is not believed to be pushing for an exit, and Los Blancos have no intention of letting him leave mid-season.
Chelsea’s name had been floated in the transfer rumour mill amid speculation about the club’s hunt for more attacking firepower following a mixed start to the Premier League campaign. But for now, it appears Rodrygo is not on that list.
