Chaos in Katsina: FUDMA Students Protest Killing of Colleague

Katsina state government

A violent protest erupted on Friday at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, following the alleged killing of a 400-level student, Sa’id Abdulkadir, by local vigilantes.

Angry students stormed the Dutsin-Ma–Katsina highway, burning tires and obstructing traffic as they demanded justice. The unrest stemmed from conflicting reports on Abdulkadir’s death—some sources claim he was mistaken for a bandit informant, while others say he was shot after failing to stop for security operatives while riding on a commercial motorcycle.

Security forces, including soldiers and police, swiftly intervened to disperse the demonstrators and restore order.
