Hajiya Fatima Binta Bello, Chairperson of Shongom Local Government Council, has called on the people of the local government area to embrace peace as a catalyst for development. This appeal was made during her familiarization visit to the seven district head palaces across the ten wards of Shongom LGA.
During her visits to the Shongom, Gundale, Banguji, Burak, Kulishi, Filiya, and Gwandum districts, Hajiya Fatima Binta Bello expressed gratitude to the district heads for maintaining peace and preventing participation in the recent protests against hardship in Gombe State and Nigeria at large. She commended the residents of Shongom for their law-abiding nature and reiterated her appreciation on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for their peaceful conduct.
Hajiya Fatima emphasized that Shongom is a peaceful local government area within Gombe State and urged the residents to continue being law-abiding citizens. She assured them that the current administration, led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is committed to providing the dividends of democracy and working collaboratively with the people of Shongom.
In his remarks, the District Head of Shongom, Malam Dahiru Yusuf Alfayo, praised the chairperson for her leadership and affirmed the district’s support for government policies and programs. He also thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for subsidizing fertilizers this year, urging the people to support the chairperson’s efforts for the benefit of the community.
Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, Asma’u Muhammad Iganus, reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting the people in various aspects of life. She highlighted the empowerment initiatives led by the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Asma’u Muhammad Inuwa, and called on the residents of Shongom to continue praying for their leaders.
Pharmacist Caleb Faransa, Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Drugs and Consumables Management Agency, commended the current administration for its efforts to alleviate hardship. He thanked the people of Shongom for maintaining peace during the recent protests and encouraged them to continue supporting the government’s initiatives.
In a related development, former Commissioner of Higher Education and Information and Culture, Hon. Meshack Loko, applauded Hajiya Fatima Binta Bello for her effective leadership since assuming office. He urged the people of Shongom to unite and support the administration, noting significant improvements in various areas under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership.
Hon. Meshack Loko expressed his gratitude to the residents of Shongom and called for continued support for the governor to ensure further progress and success for the community.
With these appeals for peace and development, the leaders of Shongom LGA reaffirm their commitment to the well-being and prosperity of their people.
