As we celebrate the 62nd birthday of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, we recognize a leader whose dedication to humanity and commitment to the welfare of the poor and vulnerable have left an indelible mark on Kano State. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s life and governance have been a beacon of hope, compassion, and progressive action.
One of the standout initiatives of his administration, the Abba Care Program, exemplifies his deep concern for humanity. By focusing on providing care for vulnerable groups, including sickle cell patients, Governor Yusuf has set a precedent in addressing the needs of those often overlooked in society. This program not only eases the burden on families but also restores dignity to those in desperate need of support.

Strengthen a Personal Foundation for Humanitarian Support. Governor Yusuf could allocate a portion of his salary and allowances to establish or enhance a personal foundation dedicated to supporting the poor and vulnerable. This foundation can focus on providing skills training, sustainable empowerment, and humanitarian interventions, ensuring that his passion for service continues to touch lives even beyond his tenure.
Establish the Kano Development Management Board (KDMB). Because by Creating a KDMB would provide a structured mechanism to support government initiatives with a human-centric approach.
This board could collaborate with stakeholders to drive sustainable development, innovative solutions, and impactful programs, ensuring Kano remains a model for inclusive growth.
Engage with NGOs and CSOs Regularly by establishing a quarterly interactive platform with state NGOs and civil society organizations will foster collaboration and ensure alignment between the government’s vision and grassroots initiatives.
This synergy will amplify the impact of policies, provide valuable feedback, and strengthen community-driven development.
