Today, we commemorate the second anniversary of the Assumption of Command of Nigeria’s Service Chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa. This milestone marks a significant period of dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to enhancing security in Nigeria.
Exceptional Leadership
Under General Musa’s leadership, the Armed Forces of Nigeria have made tremendous strides in tackling security challenges. The Service Chiefs have worked tirelessly as a unified team to respond to evolving threats, and their efforts have yielded impressive results.
Key Achievements
Neutralization of Terrorists: 6,260 terrorists neutralized and 14,138 arrested across all theatres of operations
Rescue of Kidnapped Victims: 5,365 kidnapped victims rescued
Recovery of Arms and Ammunition: Large caches of arms and ammunition recovered.

Completion and Commissioning of Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL) A significant milestone in enhancing the Army’s logistical capabilities.
Renovation of Soldiers Accommodations: Renovation of soldiers’ accommodations in Division Jos and commissioning of 23 SER Headquarters in Jos, improving the welfare of troops
Training and Capacity Building Passed out over 6,000 recruits of 87RRI, enhancing the Army’s capacity to tackle security challenges.
Deployment of Troops Deployed 300 troops to volatile communities in Benue State, presenting motorcycles, Troop-Carrying Vehicles (TCVs), and personal protective equipment to enhance troop mobility and effectiveness
stakeholder s’mores interactions in Bokkos, Plateau State, to stem the tide of insecurity and promote community engagement Carried out Civil-Military cooperation (CIMIC) interventions across the country, fostering cooperation between the military and local communities.
Approved infrastructural interventions across NA formations and barracks, improving the living conditions of troops
Enhanced welfare packages for personnel and their families, including increment of soldiers’ RCA, renovation and construction of schools, and issue of modern equipment to units
Approved local and foreign medical treatment for NA personnel and sponsored local and foreign training for officers and soldiers, enhancing their skills and well-being.
Operation HADIN KAI : Hundreds of terrorist elements neutralized, 2,467 arrested, and 1,920 civilians rescued in the North East
Operation FANSAN YAMMA : Hundreds of armed bandits taken out, 2,160 arrested, and 3,288 hostages rescued in the North West
Operation DELTA SAFE : 83 billion naira worth of stolen crude oil recovered, 103 criminals neutralized, and 2,760 arrested in the Niger Delta corridor
Air Force Breakthroughs
New Aircraft Acquisitions : 15 brand-new aircraft received, including 6 T-129 ATAK helicopters and 2 AW-109 Trekkers
Operational Effectiveness: Over 4,500 hours flown in 2,304 sorties for Counterterrorism and Counterinsurgency missions
Navy’s Anti-Oil Theft Operations
Arrests and Seizures : 76 vessels and 242 suspects arrested, with over 808 illegal refining sites deactivated
Denial of Crude Oil: About 27,255,505 liters of crude oil denied to oil thieves, worth approximately 29.5 billion naira
