The Nigerian Correctional Service, Katsina State Command, welcomed its 24th Controller of Corrections, CC Umar Baba, in a brief but impactful handover ceremony at the State Headquarters.
CC Umar Baba assumes the role following the promotion of his predecessor, Ahmed Abdu Usman, to Assistant Controller General of Corrections (ACG) and his deployment to Zone L as Zonal Coordinator.
During the ceremony, ACG Ahmed expressed heartfelt gratitude to the officers for their unwavering support during his tenure, urging continued cooperation with the new Controller to advance the service’s mandate.
CC Umar Baba, formerly Principal of the Borstal Training Institute, Kano, commended his predecessor’s accomplishments and pledged to enhance the security framework of Katsina State. “I am committed to ensuring the safety of inmates and contributing meaningfully to the state’s security architecture,” he stated.
The change in leadership signals a renewed focus on correctional excellence and collaboration within the command.
