In a humorous yet pointed exchange that sent ripples of laughter through the audience, Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, corrected a Master of Ceremony who had just introduced him with the title “President of Dangote Group.”

As the MC cheerfully announced, “I would like to welcome the president of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote,” the business mogul wasted no time setting the record straight.

Taking the microphone with a smile, Dangote quipped, “Mr. MC, for your attention, next time when Mr. President is around, my title is Chairman, not President. Don’t call me President o!”

The crowd erupted in laughter and applause, appreciating both the humility and clarity from the iconic industrialist.

The moment served as a gentle reminder of protocol—and perhaps a subtle nod to the presence of Nigeria’s Commander-in-Chief. One thing is clear: even in matters of title, Dangote knows how to take charge—Chairman-style.
