Busted: Ogun Police Officer Arrested Over Alleged Cybercrime, Fraud

Katsina state government

The Ogun State Police Command has been rocked by scandal as Constable Idris Oloyede, a serving officer, was arrested for alleged involvement in cybercrime, fraud, and conspiracy-related offences.

The dramatic arrest, executed by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, took place on Wednesday following credible intelligence.

Oloyede, who holds Force Number 537972, was attached to the patrol team at Odeda Divisional Headquarters. Sources told Zagazola Makama that investigations uncovered links between the officer and suspicious online criminal activities and theft.

Upon receiving the arresting officers, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Odeda promptly released Oloyede for interrogation. He has since been transferred to the SCID for a comprehensive probe.

The Ogun Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, but insiders suggest a crackdown on internal corruption is underway as the force seeks to restore public confidence.
