The Executive Director, Administration and Finance of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Dr. Garba Iliya, on Friday represented Mai Mala Buni, at the wedding ceremony of the daughters of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali.
The ceremony, which held in Maiduguri, drew top government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders and well-wishers from across the North East, underscoring the strong bonds within the region’s leadership.
Representing Governor Buni, Dr. Iliya conveyed warm felicitations and best wishes to the Alkali family, praying for a blessed and prosperous union for the newlywed couples. He also reaffirmed the shared commitment of regional leaders to peace, unity and social cohesion in Borno State and the wider North East.
The event was marked by colourful cultural displays, prayers and expressions of goodwill, reflecting the enduring values of family, community and solidarity that define the region.
