In a strategic move to reinforce grassroots political leadership and deepen the operational strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Yobe State, Governor Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni has distributed 17 brand-new vehicles to the party’s Local Government Chairmen across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas.
The vehicles were presented on behalf of the Governor by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune), during a ceremony attended by key government and party stakeholders.
Gubana explained that the gesture was part of the administration’s commitment to strengthening party structures at the grassroots and ensuring smooth coordination of the ruling party’s programmes and policies across the state.
He noted that the vehicles would enhance the mobility and efficiency of the local government chairmen, enabling them to effectively carry out party assignments, mobilize support for government initiatives, and maintain strong engagement with party supporters at the community level.
“The vehicles are meant to support your activities and ensure effective leadership at the grassroots. You must therefore make judicious use of them in the service of the party and the people,” the Deputy Governor said.
He urged the chairmen to remain committed to the ideals of the APC, stressing the importance of unity, loyalty and discipline within the party.
Gubana also advised them to avoid bitterness and political betrayals that could undermine the party’s stability, calling on them instead to work collectively to unite party members and consolidate the achievements of the APC administration in the state.
According to him, Governor Buni has strong confidence in the capacity of the newly elected chairmen to lead the party effectively at the grassroots and sustain the political strength of the APC across all the local government areas.
“The success of the party begins at the grassroots. Your leadership and ability to mobilize the people will determine how strong the APC remains in the state,” he added.
The Deputy Governor further reminded the chairmen to strictly adhere to the constitution, principles and operational guidelines of the party while carrying out their responsibilities.
He also urged them to maintain close collaboration with key stakeholders within the party and government in order to promote unity and ensure the continued progress of the APC in Yobe State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Yobe State APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, expressed appreciation to party stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation throughout the party congresses that produced the new executives.
Gadaka congratulated the beneficiaries and encouraged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating commitment, dedication and loyalty to the party.
He said the gesture by Governor Buni underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening the party’s foundation and enhancing effective political leadership at the grassroots level.
The APC Chairman, however, cautioned that the vehicles were strictly meant for official party duties, warning the beneficiaries against converting them for personal use or attempting to sell them.
“These vehicles are party property and must be used solely for party activities. They are not for personal use or sale,” Gadaka emphasized.
The event attracted several top government officials and prominent party stakeholders, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of the State Civil Service, Hon. Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa, Hon. Aji Yerima Bularafa, Barrister Sale Samanja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, members of the APC State Executive Committee, and other party leaders.
Political observers say the initiative is expected to further strengthen the operational capacity of the APC at the grassroots level and reinforce the party’s political structure across Yobe State.
