BUNI FLAGS OFF 2025/2026 SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME, BOOSTS HOPE FOR YOBE STUDENTS

Damaturu came alive on Tuesday as the Yobe State Government formally launched the 2025/2026 Domestic Students Scholarship and Bursary Programme, reinforcing its commitment to education as a pillar of development.

The colourful flag-off ceremony, held at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing, Damaturu, was conducted by the Yobe State Scholarship Board following the approval of His Excellency, Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Executive Governor of Yobe State.

The programme is designed to provide financial relief and academic support to thousands of indigent and deserving students studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, ensuring that no Yobe child is denied education due to financial constraints.

Speaking at the event, officials of the Scholarship Board described the initiative as a clear demonstration of Governor Buni’s people-focused leadership and long-standing belief that education remains the most sustainable investment for the future of the state. They noted that the timely commencement of the 2025/2026 exercise would enable beneficiaries to focus on their studies without the burden of school fees and related costs.
