The Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni on tuesday in Damaturu chaired the state security council meeting attended by heads of security agencies in the state.
In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammad DG press and media affairs to governor said, The meeting assessed the security situation in the state, and mapped out areas in need of improvement.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on security Affairs, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), said the “Operation Haba Maza” security outfit has been expanded to a joint security outfit to include all other security agencies.
“From now henceforth, we shall also have the Operation Haba Maza outfit in Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru, Geidam and Buni Yadi” Gen. Abdulsalam said.
He said the expansion was aimed at strengthening internal security in all parts of the state, saying,
Governor Buni has approved an increase in logistics to the various security agencies in the state to boost efficiency.
The adviser explained that the temporary closure of the three weekly markets in the state was a proactive measure taken to safeguard the people.
“There are ongoing operations in those areas, and the security agencies are working ahead to avoid surprises” he explained.
He called for support and cooperation from the people assuring that the state government and security agencies are working on the same page to improve the security achieved in the state at large.
