In a momentous event that symbolizes inter-state collaboration and people-centered governance, Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, today commissioned a major water project in Sokoto State, executed by the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu.
Governor Buni, who graced the occasion as Special Guest of Honour, lauded the Sokoto State Government for prioritizing the welfare of its citizens through the provision of essential infrastructure.
“This project is not just about water—it is about dignity, health, and economic empowerment,” Governor Buni said. “Governor Ahmed Aliyu has demonstrated visionary leadership by investing in a basic but vital need of the people.”
The commissioned project is designed to enhance access to clean and safe water for thousands of households, marking a major step forward in Sokoto’s drive for improved public health and environmental sustainability.
Governor Buni urged other leaders to emulate such developmental strides, stressing that “good governance is about translating promises into projects that impact lives.”
In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Aliyu expressed gratitude to Governor Buni for honoring the invitation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented projects that will stand the test of time.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, and government officials were in attendance at the colorful ceremony, which ended with a symbolic turning of the valve—ushering clean water into the lives of grateful residents.
