The British High Commission to Nigeria has expressed condolences to Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari following his death in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Acting British High Commissioner Tom Burge conveyed the condolences on behalf of His Majesty’s Government in a letter addressed to Governor Radda.
Burge extended sincere condolences to the Governor, the late President’s family, the Daura Emirate, and the people of Katsina State over Buhari’s passing.
The Acting High Commissioner praised Buhari’s legacy as both military Head of State and civilian President, highlighting his good relationships with the UK Government and his international reputation for integrity and fight against corruption.
“His legacy speaks for itself, both as military Head of State and civilian President, and we remember him for his good relationships with the UK Government and internationally for his integrity and fight against corruption,” Burge stated in the letter.
“The British High Commission’s thoughts and prayers remain with the Governor, Buhari’s family, and the Emirate during this period of bereavement,” Burge concluded.
