U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed the scale of America’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, declaring that over 10,000 combat flights have been carried out, striking more than 13,000 targets since the conflict began.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Washington intensifying air operations against Iranian positions.
According to reports, U.S. Central Command had earlier indicated thousands of targets had been hit in the campaign, underscoring the massive scope of the offensive.
Trump also addressed last week’s incident in which an American F-15 fighter jet was shot down, downplaying the development as a matter of chance.
“Eventually you get lucky, but we got lucky too because we got both of them back,” he said, referring to the successful rescue of the aircraft’s crew.
The downing of the jet marked a rare setback in the air campaign, as Iranian forces demonstrated they still retain some defensive capability despite sustained bombardment.
U.S. officials have since confirmed that both crew members were recovered in a high-risk rescue operation deep inside Iranian territory, an operation Trump has repeatedly praised as “historic.”
