A shocking report by TheCable has revealed that an officer of the Nigerian Air Force allegedly conspired to assassinate the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, as part of a failed coup plot against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
According to the report, the officer, identified as SB Adamu from Jigawa State, was deployed to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) about three months before the sinister plot was uncovered. Sources say he was specially assigned to eliminate Ribadu while other military collaborators planned coordinated attacks on key government officials.
An intelligence insider disclosed that Adamu was among those who infiltrated the ONSA to gather classified information that would aid the coup’s execution.
However, both the Nigerian Air Force and the Defence Headquarters have yet to confirm the development, as investigations are reportedly ongoing in secrecy.
The report further noted that several suspects linked to the attempted coup have been arrested and are currently being interrogated to unravel the full scope of the conspiracy.
“Security is the backbone of a nation, and anyone who tampers with it is playing with the destiny of the people,” a security source was quoted as saying.
