The Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, has applauded Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for appointing veteran journalist, Ali Mamman Shuwa, as the new General Manager of Borno Radio Television Corporation (BRTV), Maiduguri.
Hon. Lawan gave the commendation when Shuwa, accompanied by top management staff of the station, presented his letter of appointment to the Speaker at the Legislative Guest House, Old GRA, Maiduguri.
Describing Shuwa as a seasoned journalist with decades of expertise in broadcasting and public communication, the Speaker said the appointment was “well-deserved” and reflected Governor Zulum’s drive to reposition state-owned media for better service delivery.
He assured the new GM of the Assembly’s support in strengthening media development and deepening collaboration between the legislature and BRTV.
In his response, Ali Mamman Shuwa thanked Governor Zulum for the confidence reposed in him, pledging professionalism and dedication in enhancing BRTV’s role in public enlightenment, education, and information dissemination.
Shuwa also appreciated the Speaker for the warm reception, promising to sustain a cordial working relationship between the broadcaster and the Assembly.
