Borno Police Crack Down: 65 Nabbed, Weapons, Hard Drugs Seized in Swift Raids

The Borno State Police Command has recorded a major security breakthrough with the arrest of 65 suspects and the recovery of dangerous weapons and illicit drugs during coordinated, intelligence-led raids across parts of the state.

The operations, executed on January 5 and 8, 2026, were carried out by the Command’s Rapid Response Squad under the proactive leadership of Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid, targeting identified criminal hideouts.

Items recovered during the clampdown include cutlasses and knives, large quantities of Indian hemp and other prohibited substances, assorted drug tablets, shisha equipment, customised antelope horns and other suspicious materials—underscoring the scale of criminal activity disrupted.

Police sources confirmed that all suspects are undergoing thorough investigation and will be charged to court upon conclusion of inquiries.

Reaffirming the Command’s resolve, the Commissioner of Police assured residents that the fight against crime will remain relentless, urging the public to support ongoing efforts with timely and credible information to keep communities safe.
