The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Borno State Council, has expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, for appointing one of its esteemed members, Comrade Dauda Iliya, as Special Adviser on Media Communication and Strategy.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Chapel, Ismail Alfa Abdulrahim, the Chapel praised the Governor’s decision, describing it as a well-considered choice. The appointment of Comrade Iliya, a seasoned journalist, was lauded for recognizing his extensive experience, unwavering dedication to duty, and his collaborative spirit within the journalism profession.
“We are proud that one of our own, Comrade Dauda Iliya, has been selected for this important role. His leadership and vision while serving as the Chairman of the NUJ Borno State Council have been a source of inspiration for journalists across the state, and we are confident that he will bring the same excellence to his new position,” the statement read.
The Chapel further assured Governor Zulum of its continued support and collaboration with his administration, emphasizing their commitment to working closely with the newly appointed Special Adviser to ensure the success of the administration’s media and communication efforts.
“As members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, we stand ready to offer advice and assistance to Comrade Dauda Iliya as he embarks on this new challenge. We are certain that his professionalism and expertise will contribute positively to the success of the current administration,” the statement continued.
The Chapel concluded by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a harmonious and productive working relationship between the government and the press in Borno State.
